Firewire Tomo Ibolic Revo Surfboard 5’11” FCS-II White (USED)

Condition: USED – The surfboard is in overall great condition with only a couple of minor dings to report. The first is a minor repair to the rear of one of the fin boxes. And a minor crack (watertight) near the rail to the rear of the board. We’ve given it a spruce up with a new rail spray. You’d be hard pushed to think it wasn’t a new board looking at it. It has been well looked after and is ready for a new owner.

Who Are Firewire?

Firewire Surfboards is a leading innovator in surfboard design and technology. Founded in 2006, Firewire revolutionized the industry with eco-friendly materials and advanced construction techniques. Their boards combine sustainability with high performance, making them a favorite among professional and amateur surfers alike.

One of Firewires key innovations is their use of EPS foam and epoxy resins. These materials make the boards lighter, stronger, and more environmentally friendly. Unlike traditional polyurethane boards, Firewires designs reduce environmental impact without sacrificing durability or performance.

Firewire has collaborated with some of the biggest names in surfing. Two of their most notable partnerships are with Daniel “Tomo” Thomson and 11-time world champion Kelly Slater. These collaborations have resulted in groundbreaking designs that push the boundaries of surfboard performance.

Tomo is known for his futuristic surfboard designs. His partnership with Firewire introduced cutting-edge shapes that challenge conventional board designs. Tomos boards often feature shorter lengths, parallel outlines, and unique bottom contours. These elements create faster, more responsive boards with exceptional maneuverability.

One of Tomos most famous designs for Firewire is the Sci-Fi. This board blends modern hydrodynamics with traditional performance elements. It features a double-barrel concave and a broad tail for speed and control. The Sci-Fi became an instant favorite among high-performance surfers.

Another key Tomo model is the Evo. This board focuses on versatility and ease of use for a wide range of surfers. The Evos design maximizes speed, paddling efficiency, and wave-catching ability. It performs well in a variety of wave conditions, making it a popular choice for everyday surfers.

Kelly Slaters collaboration with Firewire took innovation even further. After parting ways with longtime sponsor Channel Islands, Slater acquired a majority stake in Firewire. His influence led to the development of Slater Designs, a subsidiary focused on performance-driven, eco-friendly surfboards.

Slater Designs introduced models like the Cymatic and the Gamma. The Cymatic, designed with Tomo, blends the best aspects of the Sci-Fi and Omni models. It features a unique tail shape and refined bottom contours for enhanced speed and responsiveness.

The Gamma, on the other hand, is a more traditional performance shortboard. It caters to surfers looking for a balance of power, control, and speed. Slater frequently uses this model in competition, proving its effectiveness at the highest level.

Firewires commitment to sustainability extends beyond board materials. They actively promote eco-friendly production methods and recycling initiatives. Their TimberTek technology, for example, incorporates sustainably sourced paulownia wood for added durability and reduced environmental impact.

Firewire also partners with organizations like Sustainable Surf and Surfrider Foundation. These collaborations help raise awareness about ocean conservation and promote responsible surfboard manufacturing. Their ECOBOARD certification ensures that each board meets strict environmental standards.

The brands success is evident in its growing influence worldwide. Firewire boards are now a staple in surf shops and competitions globally. Their focus on innovation, sustainability, and performance has set a new standard in the surf industry.

With Tomos futuristic designs and Slaters competitive expertise, Firewire continues to push the limits of surfboard technology. Their boards offer a unique combination of speed, control, and environmental responsibility. Whether for professionals or weekend surfers, Firewire provides cutting-edge solutions for modern wave riding.

Firewires impact on the surf industry is undeniable. Their commitment to sustainability and high-performance design has changed the way surfers approach board selection. Through their collaborations with Tomo and Slater, they continue to shape the future of surfing.
